Common Questions

Most residential installations are completed within 1–3 days for systems up to 10 kW. Larger systems and those requiring structural reinforcement may take up to 5–7 days. We minimise disruption and aim to complete all work while you continue your normal routine.

For off-grid systems, no ECG approval is required. For grid-connected (net metering) systems, you need to apply to ECG for a net metering agreement. Starize handles all application paperwork on your behalf as part of our installation service.

Solar panels are rated IP68 waterproof and continue producing electricity in light rain (output is reduced but not zero). During harmattan, dust accumulation can reduce output by 5–15% — our annual service plan includes panel cleaning. All our systems include lightning surge protection.

Yes — in most cases, battery storage can be retrofitted to an existing solar system, though it may require upgrading the inverter to a hybrid model. Contact us for a free retrofit assessment and we will advise on the most cost-effective upgrade path for your specific system.

We offer three financing paths: outright purchase (best total value), solar loans through our banking partners (typically 12–36 months), and for commercial clients, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) where you pay zero upfront and simply buy the energy your system produces.
